The Legend of Bai and Santelmo, retold by Sal
Alright, during the World War II beginning in the 1940s, the Philippines was in the middle of the war with the occupation. Now, there's a boy named Bai, he was 5 years old, and he doesn't know much about what is going on in the island, except that people were scared, including the invaders and also the natives.
They went into hiding when it was almost night time. During the daytime, they even stop fighting for the fear of what we call Santelmo, which is called Fireball. So they decided to stop fighting due to fear and terror or what it (Santelmo) could do to them. The fireball (Santelmo) is the product of too much bloodsheds, orders, and so much fall orders. So, even the insects and animals went into hiding: they were quiet, they stopped making noise. Even the crickets went silent. Now, at night, when Bai, five years old, was walking, he is not aware of what's going on and then, suddenly a small fireball show up, he was shocked. And then later, another fireball came up from the dead bloody ground, and then more and more. Then he got scared and he about to run and then he saw they were chasing him, so he went back to his parents with tears and fear; and that's it for him. He said “I will not walk by myself again and I will not be alone in the road in the field.” That's it.
